• A talented midfielder, dubbed as the 'Platini' of local football due to his knack of scoring free-kicks, Brincat was part of the famous Hamrun Spartans squad which took Maltese football by storm during the 1980s, winning the double twice. He also won the league and cup with Sliema Wanderers in 2003/04.
• In total, Brincat won the Maltese Premier League title on seven occasions –with Hamrun Spartans (1986/87, 1987/88, 1990/91), Birkirkara (1999/2000) and Sliema Wanderers (2002/03, 2003/04, 2004/05).
• Scored a free-kick in added time of a 3-1 second-leg loss to FC Skonto Riga which sent Sliema Wanderers through on away goals to the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League second qualifying round.
• After retiring in 2006/07, Brincat turned to coaching with lowly San Gwann, before signing a two-year contract with second-tier Vittoriosa Stars in the summer of 2011.
• Brincat played 103 times for Malta, scoring five goals. He made his debut in October 1987 in a 2-0 friendly defeat by England B.
• Brincat received a commemorative cap and medal from UEFA to mark his century of international appearances on 11 October 2011, before Malta's 2-0 home defeat by Israel in UEFA European Championship qualifying.
• "It's a reward for all the sacrifices you put into the game," he said. "It also proves your consistency as a footballer over the years because playing over 100 times for your country is such a memorable and honourable achievement."
