It took Jürgen Klopp's men, who are 11 points clear at the summit, two minutes to hit their stride, Lucas Barrios striking his ninth league goal of the season. Nuri Şahin (40) and Mats Hummels (71) completed the misery for the hosts, who have mustered just league one win in ten matches.
FC Bayern München leapfrogged Hannover 96 into third place thanks to a 3-1 success at SV Werder Bremen.
