Italian champions AC Milan have extended the contracts of defender Thiago Silva and midfielder Mark van Bommel until 2016 and 2012 respectively.
Thiago Silva joined Milan from Fluminense FC in January 2009 but it was not until the following campaign that he made his Serie A debut, soon establishing himself as one of the best centre-backs in Italian football. Capped 13 times by Brazil, the 26-year-old has made 32 top-flight outings this term.
The 34-year-old Van Bommel arrived in Milan on a free transfer in January after cancelling his contract with FC Bayern München. The former PSV Eindhoven and FC Barcelona player − who has made 68 appearances for the Netherlands − rapidly became a key figure in the Rossoneri midfield, playing 13 Serie A matches for Massimiliano Allegri's side as they clinched their 18th Scudetto.
