Luigi Delneri has announced that he will leave Juventus a year before the end of his contract following a meeting with the club.
The 60-year old, who previously led the likes of UC Sampdoria, AC Chievo Verona, US Città di Palermo, AS Roma and Atalanta BC, made the announcement on the eve of the Bianconeri's final league game against SSC Napoli.
"The club will sign a new coach," said Delneri. "They informed me about their intentions. I wish the best to my heir and hope Juventus make the best possible choice. I don't know if this is the right decision but it's not my duty to discuss it. If they think a change would be helpful then they are free to go on in this direction."
Delneri arrived in Turin last summer after leading Sampdoria to fourth place in Serie A but Juventus currently sit seventh in the standings and are almost certain to miss out on European qualification for next season. La Vecchia Signora exited the UEFA Europa League in the group stage this term after drawing all six games in Group A. The club have yet to make an announcement regarding Delneri's successor.
