Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro has signed a two-year contract with Al-Ahli Club of Dubai.
The 36-year-old defender, whose contract with Juventus expired at the end of the 2009/10 season, has been capped a record 132 times for the Azzurri and won the Ballon d'Or in 2006 after leading his country to FIFA World Cup success in Berlin.
The former SSC Napoli, Parma FC and FC Internazionale Milano centre-back played 27 Serie A matches for Juventus last season in his second spell with the club following his return from Real Madrid CF after three years at the Santiago Bernabéu.
He is currently with Italy's World Cup squad in Sestriere. Italy play Mexico in a friendly in Brussels on Thursday before flying out to South Africa on 8 June. They kick off the defence of their trophy against Paraguay in Cape Town on 14 June, with games against New Zealand and Slovakia completing their Group F programme.
