UEFA has welcomed 35 participants to the first edition of the UEFA Certificate in Football Management (UEFA CFM) – a course designed to help UEFA's 53 national associations, and UEFA staff members, enhance their knowledge of sports management and organisation, and benefiting European football as a whole.
The UEFA CFM is run in cooperation with renowned academic experts and acknowledged by the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP) in Lausanne. Participants will follow nine two-day modules, and successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate in Football Management at the end of the course.
The UEFA CFM is the foundation course of a series of professional development programmes initiated by UEFA, the highest level of which is the Executive Master in European Sport Governance (see mesgo.org) which recently started in Paris.
The UEFA CFM is aimed at broadening the know-how already acquired by the middle-management staff of the European national football associations.
The course covers the main areas of management within a national association: the organisation of football, strategic and performance management, operational management, event management, marketing and sponsorship, and internal and external communication.
