The fee for the 25-year-old eclipses the €10.6m Sunderland paid to Heart of Midlothian FC for goalkeeper Craig Gordon in 2007. Bent has signed a four-year deal with the Wearside club and becomes Steve Bruce's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Fraizer Campbell, Lorik Cana and Paulo Da Silva. The striker leaves Tottenham two years after arriving from Charlton Athletic FC for €19.5m. The former Ipswich Town FC player, who has been capped four times by England, scored 25 goals in all competitions for the north London outfit.
