PSV Eindhoven's Dutch title celebrations have been put on hold for another week after they were held to a 1-1 draw while second-placed AFC Ajax had their match called off.

Chance missed
PSV needed only to win against FC Twente to confirm their fourth successive Dutch title, but the Enschede side had not read the script, taking the lead after ten minutes through Blaise N'Kuofo. Jefferson Farfán equalised for PSV with a deflected shot midway through the second half, but Sef Vergoossen's men could not find a winner despite Luke Wilkshire's dismissal for Twente, and are still not mathematically certain of winning the title.

Small fires
Ajax are now six points behind PSV, but have a game in hand after their game at FC Groningen was called off after burning paper thrown on to the pitch by supporters caused a series of small fires at the Euroborg Stadium, with some fans running on to the pitch for safety. The referee initially postponed the game, but with smoke from the blazes deemed to be a hindrance to players, it was called off, with a view to a replay on Wednesday.

NAC bronze
Elsewhere, NAC Breda are sure to finish third after winning 1-0 at Heracles Almelo with a goal from Edwin de Graaf, while Twente, SC Heerenveen and Feyenoord will battle it out for the remaining two places in the end of season play-off for a UEFA Champions League place. Heerenveen lost 4-2 at Sparta Rotterdam, while Feyenoord lost 3-1 at Willem II. Twente are now fourth, two points ahead of Heerenveen and Feyenoord.
