UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings following events at the end of the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying Group A match between Portugal and Serbia in Lisbon on Wednesday.
Conduct charge
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and the Serbia player Ivica Dragutinović both face a charge of improper conduct at the end of the game (Article 5 of the UEFA disciplinary regulations), which ended in a 1-1 draw. The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body will hear the case on 19 September.
Late equaliser
A late Serbia equaliser from Branislav Ivanović cancelled out Portugal's eleventh-minute opener by Simão. The result leaves Portugal in third place in the group, four points behind leaders Poland, with Serbia a further point back in fourth.
