Captain Alessandro Del Piero will "carry on winning" with Juventus after signing a new contract with the Turin club until 2010.
'Personal decision'
The 32-year-old Italian international has extended terms that were due to expire at the end of this season and will stay with Juventus for at least another two campaigns. "I have made a decision for career reasons and also for personal ones," Del Piero said. "Juventus have given me a lot throughout my career and I want to carry on winning here."
Long service
The forward has been with Juventus since the 1993/94 season, having joined from Calcio Padova 1910. He has scored 155 goals in 372 league appearances for the Bianconeri and, among a number of trophy successes, won the UEFA Champions League in 1996. Capped 85 times by Italy and with 26 national-team goals, Del Piero was also part of the Azzurri squad that lifted the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
