Filipovic takes Montenegro reins

Filipović will take charge of the team for the first time when Montenegro make their international bow against Hungary on home soil in Podgorica on 24 March. Football Association of Montenegro president Dejan Savićević said: "I think we have made an excellent choice. Filipović is an established coach with international experience and good results behind him."
Varied career
Montenegro was admitted as UEFA's 53rd member association at the UEFA Congress in Dusseldorf last Friday. Filipović made his name as a centre-forward with Crvena Zvezda, Club Brugge KV and Benfica, before building a coaching career during spells in Portugal, Italy and on the staff of the Yugoslavia national side. For two seasons between 2001 and 2003, he occupied the Crvena Zvezda hot seat. Joining Filipović in the Montenegro coaching set-up will be Dušan Vlaisavljević (Under-21s), Miodrag Radulović (U19s) and Ljubomir Petrović (U17s).
