Klaas-Jan Huntelaar proved his worth once more as the Eredivisie's leading goalscorer helped AFC Ajax lift their 16th Dutch Cup with a 2-1 victory against PSV Eindhoven in Rotterdam.
Huntelaar double
Huntelaar scored both Ajax goals, including an added-time winner against the Dutch league champions in a match which saw Michael Lamey and Tomáš Galásek dismissed. Three minutes into the second period Huntelaar headed in a corner from Wesley Sneijder for his first-ever goal against PSV. The lead lasted just five minutes as right-back Lamey equalised for PSV with a stunning volley.
Huntelaar proves worth
With time running out the 22-year-old Huntelaar turned in a low Nourdin Boukhari cross, giving PSV no time to recover. "It was not always a good match, but it was certainly interesting and exciting," said Ajax coach Danny Blind. Outgoing PSV coach Guus Hiddink said: "I'm disappointed and annoyed with the way we gave away the goals. But we have already been champions for a few weeks and it has been hard to keep the group focused."
