Boakye has signed a deal until 2008 to replace terms due to expire this summer. The 21-year-old played six Eredivisie games for the Amsterdam outfit in the season just ended and also started Sunday's Dutch Cup final against PSV Eindhoven – a match Ajax won 2-1. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old Manucharyan has undergone an operation for torn cartilage in his left knee. Ajax hope the Armenian international will be fit for pre-season training in July.
