The 52-year-old coach has stepped in after Aragonés left the club with a year still to run on his contract in order to take over from Iñaki Sáez as coach of the Spanish national team. Floro has signed a one-year deal with his new club.

Villarreal success
Floro's last posting saw him win the UEFA Intertoto Cup with Villarreal CF in 2003. He has previously worked at Real Madrid CF, Albacete Balompié and Real Sporting de Gijón as well as Japanese side Vissel Kobe and Mexican club CF Monterrey.
