Ferrando replacement
The 56-year-old Argentinian replaces César Ferrando, who left the the Vicente Calderón last month after his team finished the Primera División season in eleventh place and missed out on European qualification. Ferrando had only been at the helm for one campaign.
Experienced coach
Bianchi's coaching career began at Stade Rennais FC in France, where he had spent three years as player. He moved to OGC Nice for one season at the end of the 1980s before returning to his homeland to take over at CA Vélez Sarsfield, with whom he won three Argentinian championships. His most successful era was at Boca, where he collected nine trophies, including three Copa Libertadores titles, between 2000 and 2003.
