Fenerbahçe seal Selçuk switch

Fenerbahçe SK have signed Turkish international midfield player Selçuk Sahin from Istanbulspor AS.

Fenerbahçe SK have strengthened their squad with the purchase of one of Turkey's most talented young players, the Istanbulspor AS midfield player Selçuk Sahin.

International debut
The 22-year-old made his international debut in Turkey's recent 2-1 FIFA Confederations Cup victory against the United States, impressing enough to retain his place for the subsequent four matches as the European side finished third in the competition. Selçuk was selected by national team coach Senol Günes on the back of some tremendous Super League displays for Istanbulspor last season.

'Good choice'
After signing a three-year contract at the Sükrü Saraçoglu stadium, Selçuk, who arrives for an undisclosed fee, said: "I am aware that I have come to a big club. I hope to be successful here." Fenerbahçe vice-president Mahmut Uslu felt Selçuk had "made a good choice by joining us". The player joined Istanbulspor in 2001 after two years with Hatayspor and is regarded as the likely long-term successor to Tugay Kerimoglu in the heart of Turkey's midfield.

Another signing
Fenerbahçe, who will not compete in Europe after finishing sixth last season, expect to complete a move for Turkey Under-21 left-back Mahmut Hanefi Erdogdu from second division Sakaryaspor AS next week.
