Greece round-up: Aigaleo head for safety

Aigaleo took another step away from the relegation zone today with a 1-0 win.

Striker Tasos Agritis scored the only goal of the game for Aigaleo after 39 minutes as Xanthi FC failed to earn any reward for their efforts. He finished well after latching on to Yiannis Chloros' through-ball. The fifth-place side are fading fast after posing a challenge to the Ethniki Katigoria's top sides in the early part of the season.

Safety beckons for Aigaleo
Meanwhile the home side look to be almost certain of playing top-flight football again next season. Yiorgos Hantzaras' side are now seven points clear of Akratitos who currently occupy the fourth relegation place.
