Denmark round-up: Zuma seals derby win for København

South African striker Sibusiso Zuma came off the bench to earn FC København a priceless 2-1 derby win against champions Brøndby IF on Sunday.

Back from injury
Zuma, back from injury, started the match on the bench and was forced to watch as Swedish international Mattias Jonson gave the visitors a 14th-minute lead from Ruben Bagger's pass. Brøndby were good value for their lead and looked to be heading to the break with the advantage until Peter Møller, starting in Zuma's absence, levelled from close range.

Zuma the hero
The game went stale after the break until København coach Hans Backe introduced Zuma, who in turn needed just 15 minutes to turn the match in the hosts' favour. Jonson gave the ball away in midfield and København countered, Zuma picking up the ball before fending off the Brøndby defence and lashing the ball past goalkeeper Mogens Krogh.

Odense second
Odense BK edged into second place in the table after Zambian striker Mwape Miti’s late winner against Køge BK.

Penalty woe
Miti prodded in on 89 minutes to put Odense within a point of leaders FC Københaven after Køge captain Mads Olsen and striker Tommy Olsen had both missed penalties. The visitors had taken the lead when Martin Borre struck early on but Odense captain Michael Hemmingsen kept his nerve to level from the spot.

Late leveller
Tom Christensen came off the bench to secure AGF Århus a point in a 2-2 draw with Akademisk Boldklub. The midfield player headed an 83rd-minute corner to deny the home side the points after goals from Sammy Youssouf and Nikolai Stokholm sandwiched Leon Andreasen's leveller.
 
Wasted chances
Farum’s Nichlas Hindsberg grabbed a 75th-minute winner against Silkeborg IF to move his side out of the danger zone. The hosts were made to pay for a succession of missed chances when the striker wrong-footed goalkeeper Henrik Ipsen.
 
No way back
FC Midtjylland fell 3-2 to Esbjerg fB, conceding twice in the first half an hour after goals from Erik Wahlstedt and Anders Møller Christensen. Jessen pulled a goal back seven minutes before the break but Tommy Bechmann restored the two-goal cushion midway through the second half. Kim Olsen's 77th-minute effort was scant consolation.

Basement club
Viborg FF remain at the foot of the table after letting a 2-1 half-time lead slip at home to Aalborg BK, the game finishing 2-2.
