Ignashevitch smiling
CSKA ended their search for victory with a 3-1 win at FC Rostov, thanks to goals from Yuri Zhirkov, Dmitri Kirichenko and Russian international Sergei Ignashevitch, who was back from suspension. Roman Adamov's strike in between for Rostov was nothing more than a consolation.

Derby draw
Despite gaining three points, CSKA are still four adrift of early leaders Spartak after Roman Pavlyuchenko's penalty was enough for a 1-0 victory at FC Shinnik Yaroslavl. FC Torpedo Moskva and FC Zenit St. Petersburg are tied on nine points, two behind Spartak. Torpedo were held 1-1 in their derby at FC Dinamo Moskva, but needed a goal from Igor Lebedenko to cancel out Erik Korchagin's earlier effort.

Seven-goal thriller
Meanwhile, Zenit recorded a thrilling 4-3 victory against FC Rubin Kazan but left it late. With three minutes to play and the game tied at 3-3, Russian international Aleksandr Kerzhakov delighted the home fans with the winning goal. FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast also won, despite playing without Russia captain Viktor Onopko. Petr Bystrov scored twice, and Serghey Rogaciov added the other to give Saturn an excellent 3-0 success at FC Alania Vladikavkaz.

Bracamonte winner

The home side recovered from a 5-1 loss against FC Moskva in their previous outing, to beat Amkar with a goal from Ognien Koroman.
