Article body
English FA Premiership club Middlesbrough FC have signed French midfield player Mickaël Debève on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
French double act
Debève was recently released by French first division side RC Lens after 198 appearances for the club. He was previously with Toulouse FC and Le Havre AC. At Middlesbrough he will link up with former Lens team-mate Franck Queudrue.
'Useful squad member'
Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren said: "We're very pleased to have completed the signing of Mickaël. He will become a useful squad member as we enter the final phase of the season."
Wait for clearance
McClaren, whose team are just six points above the relegation zone in the Premiership, must wait for international clearance before giving Debève his English debut.
