The Slovakian international defender suffered the injury during an aerobics session in the gym and Sparta doctor Jirí Váchal has said Labant will be sidelined for five weeks at least, meaning he will miss the resumption of the Czech 1. liga season on 16 February.
Beránek also out
It is a second serious injury for Labant who was out for ten months after suffering a broken leg in 1999. The 28-year-old joins Miroslav Beránek, who broke his hip in a car accident, on the absentee list.
