The most prolific scorers in Europe's leagues

Any player who has scored more goals than their team has played games in a top European league has to be worth celebrating. Only six players can currently make that claim in Europe; you have definitely heard of one of them – now meet the rest.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid CF)
18 goals after 11 Madrid league games – 1.64 goals per game
"The Alfredo di Stéfano of his generation" according to Madrid legend Francisco Gento, Ronaldo has been in scintillating form, helping the UEFA Champions League holders to win their last 13 games in all competitions. "When I finish my career I want to be one of the best ever," said the Portugal captain as he collected his European Golden Shoe award earlier this month.

Andrej Kramarić (HNK Rijeka)
21 goals after 15 Rijeka league games  – 1.4 goals per game
Reborn since a move away from GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Kramarić's goals in Europe and Croatia have made him hot property. He scored five in a recent league game against another Zagreb club, NK Lokomotiva Zagreb: "It might sound arrogant, but I am sorry I didn't get a sixth," the 23-year-old said. "That would have been a record. I always want to score more, to be better. I am hungry for goals."

Chris Venables (Aberystwyth Town FC)
18 goals after 14 Aberystwyth league games – 1.29 goals per game
The first midfielder ever to win the Welsh Premier League's golden boot last season, with 24 goals from 30 games, Venables is proving his achievement was no fluke. "I'm pleased to have continued my form from last season into this one," he told UEFA.com. "A lot of credit must go to my team-mates for supplying me, though, and hopefully I can continue to take my chances when they come along."

Cristian Martínez (FC Santa Coloma)
8 goals after 7 Santa Coloma league games – 1.14 goals per game
"I have never been on a list like this before - I'm very proud to be on it," Martínez told UEFA.com after his record of over a goal a game put him up with the best in Europe. "I'm a winger, but I also can play behind the striker. I'm what you might call a 'nuisance player' – I'm very busy, I run around a lot, work hard and move a lot off the ball. Doing all that helps me to score goals."

Sergio Agüero (Manchester City FC)
12 goals after 11 City league games – 1.09 goals per game
"Best player in the Premier League now, isn't he?" said experienced Queens Park Rangers FC manager Harry Redknapp after Agüero struck twice for City in a 2-2 draw against his side. City have been having a tough time, but the 26-year-old has hit peak form. "I'm happy here," he said. "All I can do is give everything I have for the club."

Jonatan Soriano (FC Salzburg)
16 goals after 15 Salzburg league games – 1.07 goals per game
"He's a real leader with real character," raved Salzburg coach Adi Hütter about his captain, who is on his way to becoming the Austrian Bundesliga's top scorer for a second successive season. Two goals against FC Admira Wacker Mödling on 1 November took Soriano on to 76 goals for Salzburg, breaking Marc Janko's record. "I might not have scored so many goals at some other teams," said the Spaniard, crediting Salzburg's attacking style for his haul. "But now I want even more."
