• Champions Paris Saint-Germain top the table on goal difference after a 2-0 win against SC Bastia in their first home game of the campaign, Edinson Cavani's volley the pick of the goals. Zlatan Ibrahimović went off with an abdominal injury after 16 minutes.

• AS Saint-Étienne and FC Girondins de Bordeaux can go top with six points if they win on Sunday.

• As many goals were scored in Stade Rennais FC's 6-2 demolition of Évian Thonon Gaillard FC as in the day's remaining five Ligue 1 fixtures. Ola Toivonen, Edson Mexer and France Under-21 international Paul-George Ntep scored two each for Rennes, while Daniel Wass hit two for Évian.
