Third term for Hallén in Norway

Yngve Hallén has been elected for his third term as president of the Football Association of Norway (NFF). Hallén will take office until 2016.

"I am very happy to be elected for another term and look forward to steering the FA towards the goals that it has set," said Hallén, who has been NFF president since 2010. The 45-year-old has worked as a teacher, journalist and also as director of Norwegian Premier Division side Sogndal IL Fotball.

"Of course, we want our national teams to qualify for major tournaments, but for us it is just as important that every child that wants to, can play football in a secure environment," Hallén said. "This is the reason we are putting emphasis on educating coaches and leaders in the clubs."

The NFF is also striving to further develop club structures, and Hallén said that the project, called Quality Club, will be central in the years to come. "That way, a club can show the rest of the world that they have the ultimate stamp of approval from the NFF," he reflected.

"I am also very happy that 50% of the NFF board are women," Hallén explained. "This reflects how highly we place women's football, both at the top level and among the masses."
