Former Swiss international midfielder Richard Dürr has passed away at the age of 75 after losing his battle with cancer.
Dürr, who was born in St. Gallen, collected 29 caps for Switzerland between 1962 and 1968. He took part in the 1962 FIFA World Cup in Chile and the 1966 edition in England. The only goal he scored for Switzerland was against Cyprus, on 8 November 1967.
Dürr started his career at SC Brühl St. Gallen, before spending two years at BSC Young Boys, where he won the 1960 Swiss title. He won another championship, in 1965, as well as two Swiss Cups, in 1962 and 1964, while at FC Lausanne-Sport.
