Shortly after leaving his head coach role at Levante UD, Joaquín Caparrós has taken the reins of Liga rivals Granada CF for the next two seasons.
Arriving at Los Cármenes with vast experience, Caparrós replaces Lucas Alcaraz who recently quit Granada after helping the Andalusian team maintain their Spanish top-flight status. The new man will have a two-year deal with the option of a third term.
A former coach of RC Recreativo de Huelva, Villarreal CF, Sevilla FC, RC Deportivo La Coruña, Athletic Club, Neuchâtel Xamax FC and RCD Mallorca, the 58-year-old Caparrós oversaw Levante's tenth-place finish in the Liga during his solitary campaign with the Valencia-based side.
