All UEFA teams will work together to ensure sustainability is central to our organisation's actions and processes, from regulations and policies to communications, work culture and infrastructure at the Nyon campus.
Initiatives will build on existing efforts to create an inclusive and healthy workplace and ensure campus buildings incorporate our sustainability principles and practices.
UEFA Football Sustainability Strategy 2030 action points:
- Seek equal pay certification (see below)
- Align UEFA codes of conduct for business relationships with its Human Rights and Environmental Commitments
- Develop health and well-being guidance material for our staff
- Run flagship initiatives to reduce UEFA's environmental impact, particularly around waste and greenhouse gas emissions
Official EQUAL-SALARY certification
In December 2021, UEFA became the first sports organisation in the world to achieve the EQUAL-SALARY employer certification. It was awarded following an audit by independent auditor PwC under the process and official methodology of the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation. More information on this can be read here.
3 x 11 Actions for Respect
For UEFA's club finals in 2023, a Respect actions guide was produced. Called '3 x 11 Actions for Respect', the easy-to-use visual was designed for UEFA staff, volunteers and partners working on events and details 11 simple actions in each of the following areas: protecting children, respecting the environment and respecting people.
