Peter Gilliéron has been re-elected president of the Swiss Football Association (SFV/ASF) for a further two-year term.
Gilliéron, who was confirmed in office by acclamation, became the Swiss national association’s president in 2009, and will now take up his fifth term.
A member of the UEFA Executive Committee since 2011, 64-year-old Gilliéron is currently chairman of the UEFA Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee and deputy chairman of the UEFA Legal Committee.
Raised in Italy, Peter Gilliéron moved to Switzerland with his family at the age of 13. An attorney at the Federal Department of Social Security, he later headed the law department at the Swiss Cheese Union, and served as general secretary of the SFV/ASF from 1994 before taking the association’s helm.
