Aivar Pohlak will serve a new four-year term as Estonian Football Association (EJL) president after his re-election at the association’s general assembly.

A member of the EJL board since 1993, Pohlak became vice-president in 2003, before his election as president four years later.

This will be Pohlak’s fourth term at the helm of Estonian football, and he said there was much to anticipate, including the UEFA Super Cup in the capital Tallinn in 2018.

"During my next term as president, we will host the UEFA Super Cup, and then the European Under-17 Championship finals in 2020," the 54-year-old said. "I would like to raise the profile of Estonian football. At national level, we want to improve the quality of our elite and youth leagues, and develop our infrastructures."

Pohlak also pledged to foster women’s football in Estonia, which is already showing promise for the future. At the EJL assembly, Anastassia Morkovkina, rated as Estonia's best-ever female player with 40 goals in 75 international matches, was voted on to the association board.
