Carlo Tavecchio will serve a four-year term as president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) after being re-elected at the association’s general assembly in Fiumicino.

Tavecchio, who became FIGC president in August 2014, began working for the Italian association in 1987 as a regional councillor for the National Amateur League (LND), before becoming national president of the same body in 1999. He was also a vice-president of the FIGC for seven years from 2007.

“We have the possibility to complete a number of plans,” said Tavecchio. “We have invested in federal training facilities and women’s football, and we will continue on the same path. I feel I have the necessary enthusiasm to continue our work."
