Michael van Praag has been re-elected as president of the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) for a further three-year term.
The 69-year-old UEFA fifth vice-president succeeded the late Mathieu Sprengers at the KNVB helm in August 2008. "In the upcoming three years," he said, "I will fully commit myself to a 100% effort for football in the Netherlands."
Van Praag joined the UEFA Executive Committee in 2009 and has been a vice-president of the European body since 2015. He is also a former Ajax president. His father Jaap served as that club's president from 1964 to 1978, during which time Ajax won three successive European Champion Clubs' Cups, in 1971, 1972 and 1973.
He followed in his father's footsteps, becoming Ajax president from 1989 to 2003, with the club winning a UEFA Cup in 1992 and the UEFA Champions League in 1995 under his leadership.
