042 – WÜRTH becomes UEFA's seventh and final official sponsor for the European Qualifiers

UEFA and WÜRTH today announced a partnership that sees WÜRTH become UEFA's seventh and final official sponsor for the European Qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

As part of the agreement, WÜRTH – the world market leader in its core business, the trade in assembly and fastening material – will benefit from a wide range of promotional rights for the qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup, including visibility on perimeter board advertising across Europe. The global stature and scale of the European Qualifiers allows WÜRTH to activate well beyond the markets of the 54 participating countries.

The European Qualifiers sponsorship programme was made possible by the centralisation of rights which took place ahead of the UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying campaign. With the first round of 2018 World Cup qualifiers completed, the conclusion of the sponsor programme underlines the strength of this initiative.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA, commented: "We are delighted to welcome WÜRTH as a sponsor of the European Qualifiers. As an established football brand in Europe and especially Germany, this partnership further underlines the strength of the European Qualifiers sponsorship programme which, with WÜRTH on board, is now complete. We look forward to working together to enable them to capitalise on the strengths of the European Qualifiers."

WÜRTH completes the sponsorship programme, becoming the seventh and final official sponsor for the European Qualifiers. It joins Carlsberg, Continental, Hisense, Konami, Socar and Turkish Airlines as official sponsor, with adidas as official ball supplier.
