Slaviša Kokeza has been elected as the new president of the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) until 2020 at the governing body's general assembly.
Kokeza takes on the position after serving for two years as vice-president of the FSS, and also holding the presidency of the Belgrade Football Association, one of Serbia's five regional associations. He replaces Tomislav Karadžić, who has been elected honorary president of the FSS, becoming just the second person to hold the role after Miljan Miljanić, who passed away in 2012.
"I believe that all of us who are involved in Serbian football will work together very hard and professionally for a better future for our national teams, organisation, clubs and other members of the football family," said Kokeza.
"Lot of targets lie in front of us and I look on them very optimistically," he added. "Construction of the national stadium is one of our priorities and I think that our country and our football really need a new and modern venue."
