One of the delights of grassroots football is watching young children discovering the joy of playing the game and cherishing the feel of a football.
Some 130 boys and girls aged between six and ten from the Ljubljana Kids' Football School (Otroška nogometna šola Ljubljana) took part in a special training session watched by European grassroots representatives attending the UEFA Grassroots Workshop in the Slovenian capital.
In glowing spring sunshine at the impressive Slovenian National Football Centre in Brdo, the youngsters took part in organised training exercises, supervised by expert coaches, that included ball skills and control, dribbling and shooting, passing, simple technical drills and coordination exercises.
Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely – especially the boys and girls, many of whom showed great promise at this early stage of their football adventures. Our photo gallery gives a taste of an event which demonstrated just how the young fall in love so easily with the beautiful game.
