UEFA considers coach education of vital importance for the long-term health and development of European football. This week, coach education directors, technical directors and coaches from the 54 member associations come together at the UEFA Coach Education Workshop in Bratislava – organised in conjunction with the Slovak Football Association (SFZ) – with the theme "building for the future". Delegates will spend some time focusing on the UEFA Academy Project as well as programmes for developing elite youth coaches.
Technical experts and members of UEFA's Development and Technical Assistance Committee and UEFA Jira Panel will also be in attendance, plus senior officials from the SFZ.

Fresh from securing Iceland their place at their first ever major finals – UEFA EURO 2016 – with co-coach Heimir Hallgrímsson, Jira Panel member Lars Lagerbäck will be sharing his experiences with the delegates, illustrating the link between front-line coaching and education. The UEFA Coaching Convention will also be on the agenda as well as practical sessions at the SFZ National Training Centre in Senec.

The workshop will be opened with speeches from Development and Technical Assistance Committee Chairman Giancarlo Abete and SFZ President Ján Kováčik on Tuesday 22 September.
