Champions: Olympiacos FC
Former FC Porto coach Vítor Pereira replaced Míchel at the helm in January with the holders in second place. The Portuguese tactician promptly led Olympiacos to a 42nd Greek title – their tenth in the last 11 years – with three games to spare. The Piraeus outfit had trailed early pacesetters PAOK FC by eight points during the winter, but their experience and winning mentality helped them turn things around. Following a 2-2 home draw with PAS Giannina FC, Olympiacos moved up a gear and recorded ten straight victories to reach the summit. Despite the challenge of closest rivals Panathinaikos FC, Pereira's men landed their 17th championship in 19 seasons.

Cup final: Olympiacos FC 3-1 Xanthi FC
Appearing in their first final, Xanthi put up a brave fight, yet Olympiacos eventually made their experience count as they achieved their 27th Greek Cup triumph. A first-half effort from Franco Jara, a wonder strike by Alejandro Domínguez and Kostas Fortounis's expertly dispatched free-kick sealed a sixth domestic double in 11 years – the club's 17th in total. "It's the best way to finish a tough season," said man of the match Domínguez. "I really enjoyed the goal – I haven't scored many."

Player of the year: Alejandro Domínguez (Olympiacos FC)
The 34-year-old enjoyed arguably his best ever campaign – netting 15 goals and notching 11 assists in the Super League. A memorable strike and an MVP display in the cup final underlined the No10's impressive form this term. "I never got worried that we would lose the league – concerned, yes, when we trailed by eight points," said Domínguez. "That was a lesson in humility and helped us realise there is no such thing as an easy league." Imagination, tactical nous and wonderful technique are just some of the qualities 'El Chori' brought to the table.

One to watch: Nikos Karelis (Panathinaikos FC)
The 23-year-old made considerable progress in his second season at Panathinaikos, becoming a vital component of the Greens' attack. The forward was given more game time with team-mate Marcus Berg sidelined by a serious arm injury, and responded in style to register 13 goals from 20 starts. "He had an amazing campaign," said Panathinaikos coach Giannis Anastasiou. "He is fast and strong, can spearhead the attack or play on the wing. Karelis has the potential to play for a big club."
