Goalkeeper Vladislav Stoyanov has been named PFC Ludogorets Razgrad's first ever Bulgarian player of the year in the annual poll of the nation's sports media, with the club taking almost all the available honours.
The 27-year-old Bulgarian international was instrumental in Ludogorets reaching the group stage of the UEFA Champions League after a string of excellent performances in 2014 in which his side won the domestic double. Ludogorets captain Svetoslav Dyakov was second in the poll, with AS Monaco FC forward Dimitar Berbatov coming in third.
"I want to thank everyone who voted for me," Stoyanov said. "I never dreamt of winning this award. This is the biggest possible accolade for a player, especially as it is very difficult for a goalkeeper to win it. I think my consistency was the key to winning. I would like to thank my team-mates at Ludogorets, the coaching staff and my family – I hope 2015 will be even better."
