• Former Albanian national team captain, Ilir Shulku was a professional football player from 1987 until 2001, starting and ending his career with FK Partizani. He also spent brief spells in Greece and Germany. Shulku made 41 appearances for Albania from 1993 to 1999, scoring once.
• From 2006, he served at the Football Association of Albania (FShF) as a director of youth activities, and was subsequently promoted to director of all association domestic activities.
• Shulku became FShF general secretary on 1 November 2012. he also holds a FIFA Pro coaching license and has had coaching jobs with Partizani and KS Besa.
