Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC have moved quickly to replace Paulo Sousa after announcing the return of Óscar García on a two-year contract.
Óscar García won the league title in his only previous season at the club, in 2012/13, before taking the reins at Brighton & Hove Albion FC. He resigned at the second-tier English outfit last month after missing out on promotion but Paulo Sousa's move to FC Basel 1893 last week and the vacancy at Maccabi means a swift return for Óscar García.
In a recent interview with Israeli radio, the 41-year-old former FC Barcelona youth coach said: "I have two houses. One is in Spain; the second is Maccabi Tel-Aviv. I love the club and I look back on my time with great fondness. My family like the place and I miss Israel and its warm fans."
Maccabi, who finished 16 points clear at the Israeli Premier League summit this season, will reconvene on 15 June to start preparing for their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie.
