Spanish champions Club Atlético de Madrid have reached an agreement with Getafe CF for the services of goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Moyá, who will pen a three-year deal with the 2014 UEFA Champions League runners-up.
Following on from an announcement of the imminent arrival of CA San Lorenzo de Almagro attacker Ángel Correa, the Rojiblancos have moved to add 30-year-old Moyá, a former Spanish Under-21 international and 2002 UEFA European Under-19 Championship winner. The transfer fee remains undisclosed.
The Balearic Islander began his career with RCD Mallorca, making 99 league outings for the Bermellones. Having subsequently featured in 12 top-flight games over two seasons at Valencia CF, Moyá switched to Getafe in 2011, where – following an initial 12-month loan – he became a first-team regular, appearing 94 times in the Liga.
Beaten in extra time by Real Madrid CF in last month's UEFA Champions League final, Atlético will begin their 2014/15 European title challenge from the group stage.
