FK Sutjeska ran out 4-0 victors against FK Dečić to retain the Montenegrin First League title.
Sutjeska needed maximum points to be certain of finishing top of the pile and rarely looked troubled against Dečić, whose relegation had already been confirmed before the game. Goals from Darko Isidorović, Igor Poček, Miloš Stevović and Nikola Stijepović did the damage and ensured that Sutjeska finished four points ahead of Lovćen, who lost their final fixture against FK Mogren.
"We deserve this title because we have survived a lot of ups and downs, especially in the second part of the season," said striker Srdjan Radonjić. "It is a nice feeling to be champions again and to become the first team to retain their title."
Sutjeska have been at the summit since the 13th round of fixtures, despite losing three and drawing five of their last 17 matches. Last week's 1-1 draw with Lovćen ensured their fate was in their own hands on Saturday. "Lovćen were real rivals and pushed us all the way to make sure we summoned our last bit of energy to win the title," added Radonjić.
