AS Monaco FC have announced that Claudio Ranieri will not be in charge of the club next season despite two successful years in the principality.
The 62-year-old Italian guided Monaco back to Ligue 1 in his first campaign at the helm before leading the newly promoted side to a runners-up finish this term, bringing the 2004 finalists back into the UEFA Champions League. "I want to thank Claudio, who has done a superb job," explained Monaco's vice-president Vadim Vasiliev. "I respect the man, but I felt we needed a new dynamic at this stage."
