FC Barcelona's title hopes were dealt another blow as Ángel Lafita earned Getafe CF a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou with a last-gasp goal on the day the hosts marked the death of former coach Tito Vilanova.

A minute's silence was observed for Vilanova before the game and it seemed that the occasion would be marked with a win as Lionel Messi side-footed Barcelona's opener on 23 minutes. However, he was upstaged by Lafita who controlled a free-kick and showed great composure before beating goalkeeper José Pinto with an angled shot.

Having earlier hit the bar, Alexis Sánchez restored Barcelona's lead, tidying up after Júlio César had saved Pedro Rodríguez's shot, and there were plenty of chances for the home side to kill the game off before Lafita's headed finish capped off a swift counterattack two minutes into added time. The point leaves Barcelona three adrift of leaders Club Atlético de Madrid, having played a game more.

Atletico visit Levante UD on Sunday, when third-ranked Real Madrid CF host Valencia CF. Elsewhere on Saturday, Málaga CF lost 1-0 at home to an Elche CF side who had two men sent off, and Nolito scored both goals as RC Celta de Vigo ran out 2-0 winners at CA Osasuna.
