Juventus hauled themselves 14 points clear of AS Roma at the top of Serie A as they edged to a fourth successive league win with a 1-0 success against ACF Fiorentina.
The Bianconeri face the Viola in the UEFA Europa League round of 16 first leg on Thursday and came out on top in the dress rehearsal thanks to Kwadwo Asamoah's curling effort, which went in off the post three minutes before the break.
Ryder Matos headed against the crossbar in the second period, but Juve took the points to gain revenge for a 4-2 defeat in Florence earlier in the season. Roma could not cut the gap back to 11 points later in the evening as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at SSC Napoli, with José Callejón heading an 81st-minute winner to move the Neapolitan club to within three points of the Giallorossi.
Elsewhere, FC Internazionale Milano in fifth saw off Torino FC 1-0 thanks to Rodrigo Palacio's 30th-minute effort, while Parma FC are a point and a place back following their 2-0 home win against Hellas Verona FC.
UC Sampdoria were two down at home to AS Livorno Calcio after an Ibrahima Mbaye double but fought back to win 4-2, while AC Chievo Verona eased their relegation worries as a pair of Alberto Paloschi penalties – the second in the 93rd minute – earned a 2-1 win against Genoa CFC. Lastly, Atalanta BC won 1-0 at SS Lazio and US Sassuolo Calcio drew 0-0 at Bologna FC.
