AS Roma were unable to cut the gap to Juventus to six points at the head of Serie A after being held to a goalless draw by fifth-placed FC Internazionale Milano.
Despite having lost just once in the league all season, Rudi Garcia's men are eight points off the Bianconeri after failing to find a way past Inter. Samir Handanovič denied Gervinho early on but Mauro Icardi fired a warning shot for the visiting Nerazzurri as he volleyed wide ten minutes in. Rodrigo Palacio headed the best chance of the first half over for Inter, while after the restart an outstanding interception from Rolando denied Gervinho a simple tap in.
Radja Nainggolan curled over and Handanovič made a great stop to deny Miralem Pjanić as Roma pressed for the winner. However, they failed to find a breakthrough, giving Juventus the chance to extend their advantage when they head to AC Milan on Sunday.
