AS Monaco FC came from behind to avoid a French Cup last 64 shock at third-tier side Vannes OC while holders FC Girondins de Bordeaux were also among those progressing on Sunday.
FC Lorient lost 1-0 at fourth-division club AS Yzeure on Saturday and Monaco looked set for a similar humbling when 2-1 down late in the first half, the second time they had trailed. But James Rodríguez levelled and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco hit a spectacular 86th-minute winner for the visitors.
Bordeaux also needed a late clincher on their travels, David Bellion striking with four minutes left to see off fourth-tier US Raonnaise 2-1. It was simpler for Olympique Lyonnais, 6-1 victors at La Suze-sur-Sarthe FC from the sixth flight, while another team from that grade, FC Quimperlois 29, led at home to AC Ajaccio before succumbing 2-1.
Also seeing off lower-division opponents were EA Guingamp, LOSC Lille and Montpellier Hérault SC while there were three all top-flight fixtures: André-Pierre Gignac scored twice in extra time to ensure Olympique de Marseille overcame Stade de Reims 2-0, SC Bastia defeated Évian Thonon Gaillard FC 1-0 and OGC Nice won 2-0 at FC Nantes. Paris Saint-Germain's trip to Stade Brestois 29 and AS Saint-Étienne’s tie at AS Cannes were postponed.
