Juventus were forced to come from behind but eventually defeated Cagliari Calcio 4-1 to take their Serie A winning streak to a club record 11 games and maintain their eight-point advantage in the table.

Having won every league game since their defeat at ACF Fiorentina on 20 October, Juve found their run under threat when Mauricio Pinilla put the hosts ahead on 21 minutes. The lead lasted just ten minutes, however, as Fernando Llorente sent an unstoppable header past Antonio Adán from Stephan Lichtsteiner's cross. Claudio Marchisio eventually gave the champions the lead in the 73rd minute before Llorente's second wrapped up the points and Lichtsteiner added a fourth, with Pinilla sent off late on.

AS Roma bounced back from their first loss of the season against the leaders last Sunday with an impressive 4-0 victory against Genoa CFC. Alessandro Florenzi, Francesco Totti and Maicon registered before the interval and Medhi Benatia added to the tally following the restart to leave the Giallorossi two points clear of third-placed SSC Napoli, who won 3-0 at Hellas Verona FC.

There was more misery for 11th-placed AC Milan as they slipped to a 4-3 reverse at US Sassuolo Calcio, despite going 2-0 up through Robinho and Mario Balotelli. Domenico Berardi struck all four goals for the hosts to lift them out of the bottom three. Elsewhere, Fiorentina surrendered ground on the top three with a 0-0 draw at Torino FC, and Atalanta BC defeated Calcio Catania 2-1.
