Molde FK overcame Rosenborg BK 4-2 in a thrilling cup final to secure the Norwegian Cup for the third time in the club's history.

The lead changed hands several times, but late goals by Magne Hoseth and substitute Tommy Høiland proved decisive in earning Ole Gunnar Solskjær's side a success that will put them among the qualifying entrants for the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League.

The game sprung to life with two goals inside 60 seconds. Molde left-back Knut Olav Rindarøy gave his side the lead on 16 minutes with a long-range shot that Rosenborg keeper Daniel Örlund misjudged. Rosenborg responded magnificently and restored parity moments later, United States international Mikkel Diskerud rifling into the top corner from just outside the area.

Rosenborg took the lead four minutes into the second half as captain Tore Reginiussen dived to head in at the near post from a corner. Molde struggled initially to regain a foothold in the contest, but eventually Jo Inge Berget pulled his side level on 71 minutes, gleefully volleying in after a deep corner had been headed back across goal.

Having drawn level, a buoyant Molde took control and regained the lead with 82 minutes gone, Hoseth curling in a superb free-kick. The match was then decided when substitute Høiland won the ball inside the box in the 90th minute and prodded over the line.

Meanwhile, FK Haugesund have also qualified for the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League after finishing third in the league.
