Today UEFA's President is celebrating a moment in history in remembering the 100th anniversary of the birth of a goalkeeper.
Albert Camus was the goalkeeper for Racing Universitaire d'Alger's youth team at the start of the 1930s. Camus – novelist, playwright and philosopher – also received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1957.
"Everything I know about morality and the obligations of men, I owe it to football," the author of La Peste (The Plague) and L'Etranger (The Outsider) exclaimed one day. Albert Camus (1913–60), a scholar, a football man ... a great human being.
