FC Internazionale Milano moved to within six points of leaders AS Roma with a 2-0 victory against AS Livorno Calcio while lowly Calcio Catania defeated Udinese Calcio by a single goal.

There was a stroke of luck for fourth-placed Inter with their goal as Jonathan's cross was fumbled into his own net by Livorno goalkeeper Francesco Bardi on the half-hour. Victory was sealed late on when Yuto Nagatomo finished off a move started by 40-year-old Javier Zanetti just minutes after his return from seven months out injured. Inter will be nine points adrift of Roma again if the leaders defeat US Sassuolo Calcio on Sunday.

Catania are level on points with Sassuolo, four points ahead of bottom side AC Chievo Verona, after a 30th-minute penalty converted by Maxi López ended a five-game winless run.
